Original Worlds Stamp by Serynzia Original Worlds Stamp by Serynzia
I am often frustrated by how all OCs (Original Characters) get grouped together regardless of their world of origin. I think an original character who exists in an original world with an original storyline is a LOT different from an OC created for a pre-existing universe, like Naruto or Bleach.

I don't have OCs. I have characters in original WORLDS.

Hence the stamp.

I have many OCs on a lot of my original worlds, but a lot of my OCs can travel between worlds.

I have created an universe which my characters from my original fiction live in, and it's not just populated by people. But the universe I created is set in the near future, and is also an unnamed county. But as it is sandwiched between two real-life counties it is quite small. So that is the setting.

If I may? This is how I usually say it.

An OC is an original character for an original story based in an original world.
A FC in a fan character made for a semi-original story based on and in a cannon world (like Naruto).

I agree with you so much on this though. I have FCs, and I have OCs, and they do not belong together at all!

FINALLY SOMEONE WHO ALSO DOES THIS! My OCs actually started out as imaginary friends when I was a little kid. They're from my own world and are irrelevant to any pre-existing storylines. I don't make fan characters, though, because I'd feel big-headed because I'm pretty sure that if the writer wanted more characters, they'd just add them.
So, I'm going to write my own story instead! :)

I have three worlds right now that I'm working on, with several characters running around in each XD

I also have two from when I was in elementary school, but I've kind of abandoned them. I'll probably rescue them later; I had several alien species and a language in one of them. =)

I have about five sets of Characters that live in their own worlds, and yes, I have fan characters aswell, but I find using the Originals more fun. ;)

ocs can be very creative to, fitting their own story into the already existing universe and seeing how it changes it. However, i completely agree with this stamp. I love original worlds! I wish i had the imagination to create one...I think i could, with a lot of work and inspiration, but im lacking both energy and inspiration right now :[

I love you! =w=

That's exactly what I think about Fictional Characters on Fictional Planets.
The Planets may be called "Earth". But they're not our Earth. Luckily.

I absolutely agree. I never got people who had OC's in universes like Naruto (and so on) with relationships with actual characters, claiming that the characters are not Mary Sues... I love this stamp!

Thanks! I love this stamp, too, and everything it stands for. I never understood those OC's, either. Whenever I had an OC in an existing fandom, he/she was never a blatant imitation of myself ONLY MORE AWESOME, as most Mary Sues seem to be, and my characters never had relationships with canon characters.

...Except when I was really young and wrote a Mary-Sue/Legolas LotR fanfic. T_T Shame, shame. But I was young.

allright I'll admit I wrote a Mary-Sue/Snape from Harry Potter (which was absolutely terrible in retrospect) which I regret!!!!
I'm glad there is someone out there who understands =3

Omigosh. This is the best stamp.
I have been working on building my own world and its people for a few years now. Even though I've yet to begin the daunting task of putting it into written form, it has been (and still is) a wonderful experience.
I enjoy looking at other artists' worlds/characters too. :la:

I've never heard of a world called Azarn - it's a cool name! I had a character named Azaran once, he was a time-traveller. But other than that, I believe the name's free :D I think original worlds are fantastic - that's why I made this stamp. Good for you for creating your own world!

My characters live on Earth, but it's a parallel-universe Earth where angels are at war with humanity...It's a long story :XD: But I like it.

:iconserynzia:

Well, basically, Heaven has declared war on humanity because humans are destroying the planet's resources and natural places (kind of like what's going on in the world today). It's about one angel, Ashael, who is sent to fight a section of the human rebellion, but she begins to have doubts about whether it's really right to kill all these people. What happens after that...it's a secret :D

I have something like ten stories floating in my head, all of them concerning my original characters in my own original universes. The thing is, most of my characters don't get a second glance.
I think that's the issue. A lot of people on this site are here for popularity rather than to be creative. Fanart, in general, gets more views than original art. I've found this out firsthand the few times I've made fanart of Zelda or Comics. They quickly get tons more views in only a few days than most of my original art does in its whole existence.

Exactly. I run my own webcomic and it doesn't get nearly as many views as any fanart I do. It sucks :( But keep up that original world work! The world needs it! :)

I never use a existing one. Just Sugar City. A world of paper and craft. And hometown of the oddest OCs yet. I agree 100%. Yet I sorta made it 75% beach.... And I have the whole paper video game concept in my head. But It's just growing right now though
